BOUNDARY WATERS, Minn. — On Friday night, officials from the Boundary Water Canoe Area contacted emergency services after discovering a capsized canoe and a partially submerged body on Lake Agnes.
Upon arrival, several officials were able to retrieve the body, which was later identified as a 62-year-old resident of Duluth. Despite a life jacket being found at the scene, the victim was not wearing it.
The family of the canoeist informed authorities that the 62-year-old was on a solo camping expedition in the area.
