Accident – Death – Obituary News :
ROCKDALE, Texas (FOX 44) – A man has been taken into custody following a shooting incident in Rockdale on Saturday morning.
The Rockdale Police Department received a call regarding a disturbance at a residence in the 600 block of Coulter Street at around 7:26 a.m. The caller reported that two adult brothers were engaged in a physical altercation in the front yard, with one of them trying to retrieve a handgun from a vehicle.
Upon arrival at the scene, officers heard several gunshots coming from inside the residence. Deputies from the Milam County Sheriff’s Department and members of the Rockdale Volunteer Fire Department quickly responded to assist in securing the area around the property.
Authorities were able to establish contact with the suspect inside the residence, identified as 20-year-old Eddie Davenport from Rockdale. Davenport peacefully surrendered to the police and was taken into custody without any further incident. He is facing charges of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, a second-degree felony.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the altercation.
It is crucial for law enforcement officials to respond promptly and effectively to incidents involving weapons to ensure the safety of the community.
