DENVER (KDVR) – A man who allegedly attempted to sexually assault a woman at a park in Fort Collins, Colorado, was bitten on the face by a dog, leading to his arrest by authorities, according to police reports.

The incident occurred on Sunday evening when a woman called 911, reporting that a male individual was trying to assault her in Lee Martinez Park. The woman was heard crying and pleading with the man to leave her alone, prompting the authorities to respond promptly to the scene.

Upon arriving at the park, officers located the woman, who pointed out the suspect walking behind her. The woman informed the police that she had been attacked by the man and had fought him off for approximately 20 minutes to prevent a sexual assault. A dog present at the scene reportedly intervened by biting the man on the face, assisting the woman in defending herself.

The suspect, identified as 39-year-old Seth Estabrooks, was taken into custody without incident. He has been booked on charges including second-degree assault by strangulation, unlawful sexual contact with force or threat, and false imprisonment by force.

Authorities stated that there was no prior relationship between the woman and Estabrooks, who was described as a transient from Boulder. The woman received medical attention following the incident, while the suspect was treated for the dog bites at the hospital.
