Mobile, Ala. (WKRG) — A Prichard man was taken into custody after a dramatic police pursuit in a stolen vehicle that ended in a crash, the Mobile Police Department reported.
According to an official statement from the MPD, officers were patrolling the Snow Road area around 2 a.m. on Friday when they spotted a vehicle that had been reported stolen from the Saraland Police Department’s jurisdiction.
Law enforcement officials tried to initiate a traffic stop, but the driver, later identified as 20-year-old Joseph Kealee Graham from Prichard, allegedly refused to comply.
As Graham approached the intersection of Snow Road and Airport Boulevard, he attempted to make a left turn but lost control of the vehicle, resulting in a collision, the release stated.
Following the crash, Graham fled on foot, but officers managed to apprehend him shortly afterward.
The suspect faces charges of receiving stolen property and attempting to elude law enforcement, as outlined in the MPD statement.
