Angel Lake : “Unloaded firearm found at Dover school”

DOVER, Del. – A Dover woman was taken into custody on Wednesday afternoon following a concerning incident at a local school.

Authorities were alerted around 3 p.m. when the School Resource Officer at Dover Middle School received reports of an individual seen with a firearm on the premises. Upon investigation, the officer confronted the suspect, identified as 50-year-old Angel Lake, who was found in possession of an unloaded 9mm handgun that was holstered on her hip along with a magazine. It was later discovered that Lake, who was attending a rescheduled meeting with the school staff, was prohibited from having firearms in her possession.

Law enforcement officials are currently working to determine how Lake managed to enter the school with the unloaded weapon during the meeting.

Angel Lake has been charged with possession of a deadly weapon in a school zone and faces two counts of possession of a firearm or ammunition by a person prohibited. Following her arrest, Lake was released on an $11,000 unsecured bond.
