Accident – Death – Obituary News : This week, the King County Prosecuting Attorneys Office has taken a significant step in the case of the fatal shooting that occurred on May 2 at the Meeker Street Bar & Grill. Daniel Suesue, a 25-year-old individual from Spanaway, has been charged with Murder in the 2nd Degree for the killing of Roderick Loi Belford, aged 30.

According to the prosecutors, video surveillance footage captured Suesue shooting the victim multiple times at close range, resulting in eight gunshot wounds. The incident took place inside a crowded bar, putting the safety of other patrons at risk. The footage clearly shows that the victim was not armed and did not pose a threat to the defendant or anyone else present in the bar.

Despite the lack of a felony conviction history, Suesue faces severe consequences due to the current charge of Murder in the 2nd Degree with a firearm enhancement. Prosecutors have raised concerns about the defendant’s potential flight risk if released on bail. As a result, they have requested bail to be set at $1 million dollars.

The charging documents outline the sequence of events that led to the tragic incident. On the night of May 2, 2024, Kent Police responded to reports of a fight at the bar, initially described as a physical altercation without weapons. The confrontation escalated, leading to the fatal shooting of Roderick Belford by Daniel Suesue.

During the altercation, Suesue was seen brandishing a Springfield XD 9mm pistol, which was later recovered from his person. However, no firearm was found on Belford, contradicting witness accounts. Video evidence from the bar captures the moments leading up to the shooting, showing Suesue aiming the firearm at Belford.

The arraignment for the defendant is scheduled for May 20 at the Maleng Regional Justice Center in Kent, where further legal proceedings will take place. This development marks a significant milestone in the case, shedding light on the tragic events that unfolded at the Meeker Street Bar & Grill..
