Indiana State Police have announced the arrest of a 43-year-old Rochester man following a pursuit that took place on Thursday, May 2, spanning Cass and Fulton Counties.
Details of the Incident
On the evening of May 2, a state trooper was patrolling State Road 25 in Cass County when he observed a yellow motorcycle without its taillight illuminated. The rider of the motorcycle was identified as Jamie Corbin, aged 43.
According to official reports, the trooper attempted to pull Corbin over on State Road 25 near County Road 900 North. However, Corbin failed to comply and instead led the trooper on a high-speed pursuit through the roadways of Cass and Fulton Counties, reaching speeds of up to 80 miles per hour.
The pursuit eventually came to a halt at County Road 950 South after continuing north on State Road 25. Corbin then attempted to flee the scene but was apprehended by authorities shortly thereafter.
Discovery of Suspected Methamphetamine
Upon searching the motorcycle, Indiana State Police discovered suspected methamphetamine. Further investigation indicated that Corbin was potentially under the influence of drugs during the pursuit.
As part of the arrest process, Corbin was taken to the hospital for a certified test before being transported to the Fulton County Jail. It was later revealed that Corbin had two active warrants in Howard County.
Charges Against Corbin
Corbin now faces multiple charges, including Resisting Law Enforcement with a Vehicle (prior), classified as a level five felony, Possession of Methamphetamine, classified as a level six felony, Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated, classified as a class A misdemeanor, and Resisting Law Enforcement, classified as a class A misdemeanor.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the incident and gather evidence related to Corbin’s actions during the pursuit.
