Isaiah Hawkins : “Man Arrested for Shooting at Fairfax Gas Station”

A man has been taken into custody by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office for allegedly shooting and killing a woman at a gas station in the Fairfax area. Isaiah Hawkins, 33, is facing charges of second-degree murder in connection with the death of 32-year-old Demeshia Gainer, according to authorities.

The incident took place at a Daily’s gas station located on Roosevelt Boulevard, where JSO responded to reports of a shooting last Saturday. Witnesses at the scene reported seeing a man leaving the victim’s car, which was registered to Gainer. Firefighters later spotted a suspect matching the witness description near a fire station just one mile away from the crime scene immediately after the shooting.

Family members of the victim informed law enforcement that Gainer was involved in a relationship with a man named Isaiah, a detail that was confirmed during the course of the investigation.

Hawkins was positively identified as the individual seen near the fire station following the murder. He was apprehended by authorities during a traffic stop on Tuesday.
