The Franklin County Coroner’s Office has confirmed the identity of the victim and an investigation is currently underway to determine the circumstances surrounding her fall. Ohio State police have stated that they do not suspect foul play and believe the fall was not accidental, according to university spokesperson Ben Johnson.
The incident took place around midday near the stadium’s Bell Tower, as the last graduates were entering the stadium to participate in the commencement ceremony. Shock and sadness rippled through the crowd as the tragic event unfolded, with Brady’s daughter reportedly among the graduating students.
Despite the sombre atmosphere, the commencement ceremony proceeded as planned, with no mention of the incident. However, witnesses reported that some attendees were visibly distraught following the fall. In response to the tragic event, the university has reached out to all graduates and staff members who were present at the ceremony, offering counselling services to those in need.
