WEST CHESTER — A devastating wrong-way driver crash in West Chester resulted in the tragic loss of three lives on Sunday. The incident, which left the community in shock, was reported by nine different individuals who called 911 to alert authorities of the horrifying collision.

According to West Chester Township spokesperson Barb Wilson, one of the deceased individuals was identified as the wrong-way driver, 65-year-old Gregory Meyer from Middletown. Witnesses described Meyer’s driving as “erratic” and alarming, as he was seen speeding up the wrong side of the road moments before the fatal crash occurred.

Multiple callers recounted their harrowing experiences of narrowly avoiding a head-on collision with Meyer, only to witness the tragic aftermath unfold. One emotional 911 caller shared, “We avoided a head-on collision… but the people behind us were involved.”

Reports from the scene described a scene of devastation, with one vehicle flipped in the median and another cut in half by the impact of the crash. The Butler County Coroner’s Office was called to the scene, where they pronounced 52-year-old Patrick Pelton and 52-year-old Nicole Collins, both from Liberty Township, deceased.

Tragically, Meyer succumbed to his injuries at West Chester hospital, as confirmed by the coroner’s report. The entire community mourns the loss of these three individuals and extends their deepest condolences to the families and loved ones affected by this heartbreaking incident.
