A man has been taken into custody after allegedly attempting to rape an 81-year-old woman suffering from Alzheimer’s in California. The incident took place on April 29 in Pacoima, where the suspect, identified as Walker Gabriel Munoz, 22, knocked on the woman’s apartment door and gained entry.
Once inside the apartment, Munoz physically assaulted the elderly woman and made an attempt to sexually assault her. The horrifying incident was captured on a home security camera, providing crucial evidence for the investigation.
The victim was immediately taken to a local hospital for a sexual assault examination following the attack. The Los Angeles police have confirmed that Munoz was arrested on May 3 and has been booked into the Metropolitan Detention Center on a charge of kidnapping with intent to commit rape.
The authorities are continuing their investigation into the matter and have urged anyone with information to come forward and contact the police at 818-834-3115.
Pacoima, where the incident occurred, is located approximately 30 miles northwest of downtown Los Angeles.
