In the early hours of Saturday, May 4th, a routine traffic stop on Route 13 in Cortlandville led to the arrest of a 37-year-old man from Dryden. The Cortland County Sheriff’s Office initiated the stop due to an equipment violation and discovered that the driver, identified as Zachary B. Zimmerman, was operating the vehicle under the influence of alcohol.

Zimmerman was taken into custody and charged with several offenses, including Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) and Driving with .08% of 1% or More of Alcohol. These charges are classified as misdemeanours under New York state law. In addition, Zimmerman was also charged with Consuming Alcohol in a Motor Vehicle and No/Inadequate Headlamps.

Following his arrest, Zimmerman was transported to the Sheriff’s Office for processing and was subsequently released on appearance tickets. He is scheduled to appear in Cortlandville Town Court later this month to face the charges brought against him.
