Accident – Death – Obituary News :
A body was discovered inside a shed on Monday in Aiken, South Carolina, prompting a search for the individual responsible for the crime, according to officials.
The incident took place at around 11:10 a.m. when law enforcement officers were called to the 300 block of Greenwich Drive, as reported by the Aiken Department of Public Safety. The location is situated in Aiken, within the vicinity of Silver Bluff Road and Whiskey Road.
Upon arrival, officers made the grim discovery of a deceased individual inside a shed located in the backyard, as confirmed by the department of public safety.
The victim has been identified as 22-year-old Aiken resident Jalen Jones, according to Aiken County Coroner Darryl Ables. Jones had succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene, Ables added.
There were no additional injuries reported in connection with the incident. As of now, there is no information regarding the identity of the perpetrator(s) or any potential motive for the shooting. The investigation into Jones’ death is currently being conducted jointly by the department of public safety and the coroner’s office.
An autopsy is scheduled to take place on Thursday in Newberry, as confirmed by Ables.
Law enforcement has not made any arrests in relation to the case and is seeking assistance from the public in providing any relevant information regarding the shooting.
