WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) has launched an investigation into a shooting incident that resulted in the death of a man and left another individual injured in Southeast Washington.
Authorities responded to reports of gunshots in the 3500 block of Stanton Road at approximately 7:40 p.m. on May 5th. Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered two victims who had sustained gunshot wounds and were subsequently transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
Tragically, one of the victims, identified as 31-year-old Anthony White from the Northwest area, succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. The other victim, whose identity has not been disclosed, is currently receiving treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.
