The incident unfolded in the 10000 block of University Parkway, where authorities responded to reports of gunfire being heard. Upon arrival, they found a woman and a baby unharmed despite the terrifying situation.

According to the victim, there was a heated argument between her and Montgomery outside her apartment. Allegedly, Montgomery brandished a firearm and made threats to shoot her. In fear for her life and that of the child, she retreated indoors as Montgomery left the scene.

However, Montgomery returned to the apartment shortly after, and as the woman opened the door, he aimed the gun at her. Thankfully, she managed to close the door in time to avoid being hit by the bullet that pierced the door.

Upon apprehending Montgomery, law enforcement discovered that the firearm in his possession had been reported as stolen. As a result, he faces a slew of charges, including attempted homicide, aggravated assault, firing a deadly missile into a dwelling, possession of a firearm as a convicted felon, property damage, and the use of a firearm during a felony.

This arrest serves as a stark reminder of the dangers posed by individuals with unlawful access to firearms and the importance of swift and thorough law enforcement intervention in such cases.
