Accident – Death – Obituary News :

In a tragic turn of events, three foreign tourists on a surfing trip to Mexico’s Baja peninsula were found dead, their bodies dumped in a remote well near the coast. The victims, identified as brothers Jake and Callum Robinson from Australia and American Jack Carter Rhoad, were reportedly killed by thieves who wanted to steal their truck for its tyres.

Discovery of the Bodies

Baja California state prosecutors revealed that the bodies of the three surfers were recovered from a well approximately 15 metres deep. The relatives of the victims were able to identify the corpses, confirming the grim fate that had befallen their loved ones.

Interestingly, the well also contained a fourth corpse, indicating that the site had been used for previous criminal activities. The discovery of the bodies was a breakthrough in the case, which was swiftly solved compared to many other disappearances in Mexico.

Details of the Crime

Chief state prosecutor Maria Elena Andrade Ramirez shed light on the events leading to the surfers’ tragic end. It is believed that the thieves came across the foreigners’ pickup truck and tents, deciding to steal the tyres. However, when confronted by the tourists, a fatal altercation ensued, resulting in their deaths.

Subsequently, the perpetrators disposed of the bodies in the well, a secluded location that was challenging to access. The well was reportedly covered with boards, making it nearly impossible to locate without prior knowledge.

Suspects in Custody

Three suspects have been apprehended in connection with the killings. Two of them were found in possession of methamphetamines and are currently detained on drug charges. Despite this, they remain suspects in the surfers’ deaths.

Another individual, identified as Jesus Gerardo, alias “el Kekas”, has been arrested on charges equivalent to kidnapping. With a criminal record and alleged direct involvement in the murders, he is believed to be a key player in the crime.

Conclusion

The discovery of the bodies near the township of Santo Tomas has brought some closure to the families of the victims. However, the investigation continues, with authorities exploring the possibility of additional accomplices in the heinous act.

As the case unfolds, the tragic fate of the three surfers serves as a stark reminder of the dangers that lurk in even the most idyllic of settings.
