Accident – Death – Obituary News :

Jaipur: An MBBS student, Abhishek Gupta, was detained in Rajasthan’s Bharatpur for impersonating a NEET aspirant in the medical entrance exam. Along with Gupta, five others, including the actual candidate Rahul Gurjar, were also apprehended by the police.

The investigation revealed that Gupta, a student at a government college, was part of a scam orchestrated by his collegemate Ravi Meena. Meena allegedly took Rs 10 lakh from Gurjar in exchange for Gupta appearing as him in the exam.

During the exam at the Master Adityendra School, Gupta was caught impersonating Gurjar by the invigilator. Subsequently, Gupta confessed to the police that he was part of a group of five others who were waiting in a car outside the examination centre.

Further Investigation and Actions

Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Aklesh Kumar stated that all the accused are currently being interrogated, and appropriate actions will be taken in due course. The individuals detained along with Gupta and Meena were identified as Amit, Dayaram, and Suraj Singh.

Additionally, at another exam centre in Sawai Madhopur, there were complaints from NEET-UG candidates about receiving question papers in a language different from their chosen medium. Parents of the candidates alleged mistreatment by the police when they raised their concerns.

Response from NTA

The National Testing Agency (NTA) issued a public notice acknowledging the incident of incorrect distribution of question papers. Sadhna Parashar, Senior Director at NTA, assured that measures were being taken to ensure fairness and equal opportunity for all affected candidates.

In conclusion, the incident highlights the importance of maintaining integrity in competitive exams like NEET and the need for stringent measures to prevent malpractice and uphold the credibility of the examination system.
