SANTA CLARA, Calif. – A devastating incident rocked the community of Santa Clara as 3-year-old Ivan Martinez-Alvarado tragically lost his life in a fatal shooting allegedly carried out by his mother’s boyfriend. The young boy’s identity was confirmed by the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner on Thursday morning.
The heartbreaking event unfolded in the early hours of Tuesday when Ivan was fatally shot by 24-year-old Sergio Colin Gomez, who resided with the boy’s mother at the Riley Square Apartments, located just off Lawrence Expressway north of El Camino Real.
