Authorities in Lancaster are currently conducting a thorough investigation into the tragic death of a young child in the area. The incident took place on the 43400 block of 57th Street West, prompting a medical rescue call at approximately 10:55 p.m. on Tuesday, as confirmed by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
The victim, a 3-year-old child with an unidentified name, was found with a neck laceration and was swiftly transported to a local hospital. Tragically, the child was pronounced dead upon arrival at the medical facility. Meanwhile, an adult male identified as 39-year-old Rena Naulls from Lancaster, who is the live-in boyfriend of the victim’s mother, was also taken to the hospital after experiencing a medical emergency. Reports indicate that he attempted to take his own life at the scene but is currently in stable condition and is considered a person of interest in the investigation.
At this stage, no arrests have been made, and the investigation remains ongoing. The child’s mother is currently cooperating with investigators as they work to uncover the circumstances surrounding this heartbreaking event. Additionally, the three remaining children in the household, who were unharmed, have been placed under the care of the Department of Children and Family Services for their safety.
