ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — The Roanoke Police Department has officially confirmed the identity of the victim who tragically lost his life in a shooting incident on Patton Avenue over the weekend.
According to authorities, the deceased individual has been identified as 27-year-old Uhura U. Willis.
Details of the Incident
As previously reported, Roanoke police responded to a call regarding a gunshot victim in the 400 block of Patton Avenue NW in the early hours of Saturday morning. Upon arrival at the scene, officers located Willis in a wooded area on Patton Avenue. Despite efforts to administer life-saving procedures, Willis succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
During the course of their investigation, law enforcement officials uncovered crucial evidence at the scene; however, the perpetrator was not present. Authorities are currently on the lookout for a suspect believed to be travelling in a maroon 2015 Jeep Cherokee Latitude bearing the license plate TSB7187.
