A Detroit woman has admitted to assaulting a young girl at the Somerset Collection in Troy, Michigan. Reanna Valentine, 25, pleaded guilty to assault and battery before 52-4 District Judge Maureen McGinnis on Tuesday. The incident took place on January 12 near the mall’s food court.
Surveillance footage captured Valentine grabbing the 10-year-old girl’s head and forcefully slamming it into a glass display case. The child, who was accompanied by her father and friends, had walked in front of Valentine just before the attack occurred, according to Troy police.
After the assault, the child reported that Valentine laughed and smiled at her. Valentine was apprehended the following day when she returned to the mall, authorities said. She is set to be sentenced by Judge McGinnis on March 26.
