An 11-year-old girl is fighting for her life after being shot in the head in Detroit on Tuesday morning. The incident occurred when two suspects opened fire into a house where the young girl was sitting on a couch.

The child is currently in critical condition as a result of the shooting.

According to the police, the shooting took place in the 6000 block of Pennsylvania, near Gratiot and I-94. The house was reportedly filled with around 20 people when the suspects approached the property around 4 a.m. and began shooting.

Assistant Chief Charles Fitzgerald expressed his disbelief at the senseless act of violence, stating, “All they heard was a bunch of shots coming from outside. This story doesn’t make a whole lot of sense.”

This is not the first time such an incident has occurred at this particular residence. Fitzgerald revealed that a similar shooting took place in December 2023, although no one was injured during that incident.

Michigan Central Station Reopening Date Announced

The highly anticipated reopening of Michigan Central Station is drawing near, with Ford set to unveil the historic building in a few months.

After acquiring the dilapidated train station in 2018, Ford Motor Co. has dedicated several years to renovating the iconic structure. The comprehensive restoration work has transformed the building, which is now set to reopen on June 6.

Throughout the renovation process, Ford collaborated closely with the Michigan State Historic Preservation Office and the National Park Service to ensure that the building’s rich history was preserved while modernizing its facilities.

The meticulous restoration work involved the restoration of original features wherever possible, with damaged parts being replaced to maintain the building’s authenticity.

Although the train station will no longer serve its original purpose, Ford has indicated that the space will be utilized by its autonomous vehicle teams, with the main area open to the public.

Man Assaulted at Redford Gas Station

A brutal assault took place on Saturday night at a Redford Township gas station, witnessed by the victim’s daughter.

Describing the harrowing experience, the victim, known only as Jack for safety reasons, recounted, “It just felt like 200 feet kicking me.” Jack sustained severe injuries, including two black eyes and a broken nose, during the attack.

Jack had just picked up his 19-year-old daughter from her boyfriend’s house before stopping for gas on Plymouth Road. As he entered the gas station, he became aware of a potentially dangerous situation unfolding.

Recalling the moment of the attack, Jack shared, “It was kind of rowdy in there. There were people, so I kind of got nervous. I knew I had my wallet on me, so I tucked it down. Then they bought a black ski mask, and they put it on, and that’s when I knew something was going to happen.”

That’s when the violent assault took place.

Propane Causes Ann Arbor Home Explosion

A house explosion in Ann Arbor on Monday morning was attributed to the use of propane inside the residence.

The powerful blast completely destroyed the home on S. 7th Street, sending debris flying in all directions.

Neighbor Fred Hutchinson, who witnessed the explosion, shared his experience, stating, “I got a cup of coffee, went down to the basement to work on my stamp collection and heard the explosion. The house literally shook, the windows rattled.”

It was revealed that the homeowner had resorted to using propane for heating purposes after the gas supply to the house was shut off.

Ann Arbor Fire Chief Mike Kennedy emphasized the dangers of using propane indoors, stating, “Unfortunately, this probably could have been prevented. People should not use propane inside a residence for this exact reason.”

Fortunately, the homeowner managed to escape with minor injuries, and neighboring properties only sustained minimal damage as a result of the explosion.
