Accident – Death – Obituary News : An individual from Oakland was apprehended over the weekend after being captured on camera exploiting a severely inebriated woman in Berkeley, as per reports from the police. In the early hours of Sunday morning, the security surveillance company for the apartment complex at 1950 Addison St. alerted the Berkeley Police Department (BPD) about a man and woman in a communal area around 2:20 a.m., with a sexual assault in progress, the Berkeley police disclosed in response to an inquiry from The Berkeley Scanner.

The woman, who seemed to be heavily intoxicated and unconscious, was being fondled by the man, as reported by the surveillance company to the authorities. Upon the arrival of the officers at the scene, the man, identified as 23-year-old Zhe Wang from Oakland, was promptly apprehended, as confirmed by booking records and the police department.

Wang was taken into custody on suspicion of three serious sex-related offences, including sexual battery of an unconscious individual and sexual penetration of a victim who is unable to give consent, according to the booking records. The female victim was transported to Highland Hospital via ambulance, as stated by the police.

As of Tuesday morning, Zhe Wang remained detained at Berkeley Jail, in accordance with the booking records. He is being held on bail amounting to $150,000 and is slated for a court appearance on Thursday morning at the Wiley Manuel Courthouse in Oakland. Berkeley police informed that Zhe Wang’s booking photograph was not accessible due to the ongoing investigation, with The Scanner committing to updating the story if it becomes available..
