Ms. Menglin : “Chinese Woman Assaulted at Siam Country Club Golf Course”

Police in Pattaya, Thailand are currently investigating a disturbing incident involving a young Chinese woman who claims she was deceived and assaulted in a wooded area near the Siam Country Club Golf Course. The woman, identified as Ms. Menglin, was found with her brother, Chen, after allegedly being lured into the forest by a Thai motorbike driver.

Authorities were alerted to the situation when reports came in of a fire in the grassy area behind the golf course. Upon arrival, police found Ms. Menglin visibly distressed, with marks on her wrists indicating she had been bound. She recounted a harrowing ordeal where she and her brother had hitchhiked along Route 331 and were offered a ride by two Thai men on motorcycles. A dispute between the men led to Ms. Menglin being led into the forest, where she was bound and assaulted.

According to Ms. Menglin’s account, the assailant attempted to assault her but failed, leading him to smear lotion on her body in an apparent effort to destroy any evidence. He then poured oil around the grass and set it alight, trapping Ms. Menglin in the flames. In a desperate bid to escape, Ms. Menglin managed to burn through the rope binding her wrists and contact her brother for help.

Police are treating the incident with the utmost seriousness and have launched a thorough investigation. Superintendent Pol. Lt. Col. Jirasak Absang of Nongprue Police Station, along with Superintendent Pol. Lt. Col. Piyaphong Ensarn of Tourist Police Pattaya, are leading the inquiry. Ms. Menglin’s injuries will be examined at the hospital, and CCTV footage along the route described by her will be reviewed to piece together the events leading up to the assault.
