Authorities in Detroit are currently investigating a tragic shooting incident that occurred over the weekend on the city’s east side, resulting in one man being killed and another sustaining injuries.

According to reports, police were alerted to the incident at around 10 p.m. on Saturday, with the location being the 19300 block of Norwood Street near Seven Mile and Ryan roads.

Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered two individuals who had been shot. Tragically, one of the men, who has been identified as John Doe, was pronounced dead at the scene. The other victim, a 19-year-old male, was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment of his injuries.

The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain unclear at this time. However, the surviving victim informed authorities that he was seated in a vehicle when he heard gunshots and subsequently felt pain. The deceased victim was found a short distance away from the scene.

Law enforcement officials also recovered a firearm from the area, which is believed to be linked to the incident.

At present, authorities have refrained from disclosing any additional information related to the case as investigations continue.
