EVANS COUNTY, Ga. – Celeste Denise Adams, a 23-year-old resident of Waynesboro, has been apprehended by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) following a tragic shooting incident in Claxton that led to the loss of two lives and left two others wounded.
The tragic event unfolded at the Relax Inn on US Highway 301 in Claxton, as confirmed by the Evans County Sheriff’s Office. Reports indicate that at approximately 7 a.m. on February 14, authorities received multiple 911 calls alerting them to the shooting. Upon their swift arrival, law enforcement discovered four individuals suffering from gunshot wounds.
Tragically, two of the victims succumbed to their injuries. The deceased have been identified as Shalonde A’Jessica Stevens, 27, of Statesboro, and Taylor Samone Clark, 26, also of Statesboro. Their bodies are set to undergo autopsies at the GBI Crime Lab.
Adams now faces a slew of charges, including two counts of murder, two counts of aggravated assault, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. She voluntarily surrendered herself to the Evans County Sheriff’s Office.
