NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A 19-year-old individual who was out on bond while awaiting trial for two separate murder cases has been re-incarcerated following a shooting incident at Mill Ridge Park on Friday evening. The incident resulted in injuries to a man, as confirmed by Nashville authorities.

The Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) has identified Oswaldo Corado, aged 19, as the individual responsible for shooting a 23-year-old acquaintance in the hand at Old Hickory Boulevard park. Additionally, Corado allegedly pointed a gun at the victim’s cousin on the same day, Friday, Feb. 16.

Citing the perceived ongoing danger to the community posed by Corado, authorities have taken swift action. Detectives from multiple MNPD departments, including the Specialized Investigations Division and SWAT/Special Response Team, initiated a search for Corado after two new aggravated assault warrants were issued in the early hours of Saturday, Feb. 17.

Collaborative Efforts Lead to Arrest

Collaboration between MNPD units and the La Vergne Police Department resulted in the successful apprehension of Corado. The arrest took place in the Walmart parking lot in La Vergne, where SWAT officers executed a vehicle jam to secure the suspect. Following the arrest, Corado was transported to the Downtown Detention Center and booked. A judicial commissioner set the bond at $150,000 for the two new warrants.

Corado first came into police custody on Dec. 16, 2020, at the age of 16, when he was charged with criminal homicide related to the shooting death of 22-year-old Lee V. Turner Jr. outside the Tornado Bus Station on Nolensville Pike.

History of Criminal Charges

In 2021, Corado faced another criminal homicide charge in connection with the fatal shooting of 34-year-old Alexander Presley on Nov. 16, 2020. The incident occurred while Presley was seated in his vehicle outside his Weaver Drive residence, according to police reports.

Both criminal homicide cases involving Corado were transferred from Juvenile Court to Criminal Court. Authorities have highlighted that as part of his bond conditions, Corado was required to wear an ankle monitor and refrain from any association with firearms.
