Ariel Sanchez : Philadelphia Police Seek SUV Driver After Motorcyclist Injures

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — Authorities in Philadelphia are appealing for witnesses to come forward following a hit-and-run incident that left a young motorcyclist with severe injuries earlier this month.

The collision occurred on the evening of February 8 at the junction of C Street and Alleghany Avenue, where a motorcycle and an SUV were both travelling eastbound on Alleghany Avenue.

According to police reports, the SUV attempted to make a southbound turn onto C Street when it was rear-ended by the motorcycle, causing the rider, identified as Ariel Sanchez, to sustain critical injuries to his head, back, and pelvis.

Despite the severity of Sanchez’s injuries, the driver of the SUV allegedly briefly stopped at the scene before fleeing the scene, leaving Sanchez in need of urgent medical attention.

Sanchez, aged 20, is currently being treated at Temple University Hospital, where he is said to be suffering from a broken collar bone, blood clots, and enduring extreme pain as a result of the crash.

The victim’s family has expressed their anguish over the incident, with Sanchez’s mother, Maria Arroyo, condemning the driver’s actions and urging them to take responsibility for their actions.

Sanchez’s sister, Christina Forsythe, made a heartfelt plea for the driver to come forward, emphasising the severity of Sanchez’s condition and the impact it has had on their family.
