Accident – Death – Obituary News : AGRA: A senior woman was apprehended on Sunday for allegedly commissioning the production of four explosive devices that were discovered in the possession of a man in Muzaffarnagar a few days ago. The woman, identified as Imrana Begum, aged 60, hailing from Shamli, informed authorities during questioning that her residence was set ablaze during the 2013 Muzaffarnagar riots. She expressed a desire to acquire explosives for self-defense in the event of any communal unrest in the future.
The individual responsible for assembling the time bombs, Javed, 25, was reportedly captured by the UP Special Task Force (STF) near the Kali River in Muzaffarnagar on Thursday night. STF officials released a statement on Sunday indicating that Imrana had suffered substantial losses during the 2013 riots in Muzaffarnagar.
The communique further revealed that Imrana was enraged by the destruction of her home during the violence. Upon learning that Javed, the son of an acquaintance, was adept at creating explosive devices, she enlisted his expertise to fashion bombs that could be utilised in potential conflicts. Imrana had provided Javed with an initial sum of Rs 10,000 for the preparation of the improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and had agreed to remit an additional Rs 40,000 upon delivery. Javed was apprehended while attempting to deliver the IEDs to Imrana.
Imrana has been charged under IPC Section 286 for negligent conduct involving explosive substances, as well as Sections 4/5 of the Explosives Act, and has been remanded to prison. Muzaffarnagar SSP Abhishek Singh indicated that she is anticipated to be taken into police custody for further interrogation. The SSP stated, “A thorough investigation is required to ascertain the motives behind the creation of the time bombs.”
