WASHINGTON – The Metropolitan Police Department in Washington, D.C. have apprehended a suspect involved in a tragic shooting incident that resulted in the death of a 35-year-old man, identified as Darius Robinson.

Law enforcement officials received a distress call regarding a shooting at a residential property on the 1600 block of Rosedale Street during the early hours of Sunday, February 18. Upon arrival at the scene at approximately 3:00 a.m., officers discovered Robinson, who had sustained fatal gunshot wounds.

The suspect, identified as 25-year-old Charles Demarco Best from Clinton, Maryland, had fled the location following the shooting. However, thanks to the swift actions of the police, Best was swiftly located and taken into custody.

Following a thorough investigation, Best has been charged with second-degree murder in connection with Robinson’s untimely death. Police have reason to believe that both the victim and the suspect were acquainted with each other prior to the fatal altercation.
