Accident – Death – Obituary News :

John Wayne Gacy, famously known as the “Killer Clown,” is once again making headlines as it was recently announced that he will be the subject of a new limited series on Peacock. The news of this upcoming series has sparked controversy and outrage, particularly from the family members of his victims.
Lorie Sisterman, the sister of James Haakenson, who was identified as Gacy’s 24th victim in 2017, has expressed her disapproval of the project. In an exclusive interview with TMZ, she stated that she does not support the series in any way, shape, or form. Sisterman voiced her concerns about the unnecessary dredging up of painful memories and the rehashing of old wounds.
Furthermore, Sisterman revealed that no one reached out to her about the scripted series, which is based on Peacock’s 2021 docuseries “John Wayne Gacy: Devil in Disguise.” She emphasized that the series should be off-limits because there are still people who are grieving over Gacy’s heinous actions.
John Wayne Gacy, who was executed in 1994 after being convicted of murdering 33 young men and boys in the 1970s, buried most of his victims under his Chicago-area home. Sisterman highlighted the fact that there are individuals, including members of Gacy’s family, who are still deeply affected by his crimes.
Lorie Sisterman also drew attention to the impact of Hollywood’s portrayal of true crime stories on the families of the victims. She mentioned the Netflix series “Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story,” starring Evan Peters, as another example of a show that could be distressing for the victims’ families.
While Sisterman did not watch the 2022 show, she expressed concerns that John Wayne Gacy could be glorified in a similar manner to Jeffrey Dahmer. She stressed the importance of not putting notorious criminals on a pedestal, especially at the expense of the victims and their families.
In conclusion, Sisterman stated that even decades after the tragic events, Chicago is still trying to heal and move on from the horrors of John Wayne Gacy. However, she believes that the new series is a significant setback for the community and those affected by Gacy’s crimes.
