Accident – Death – Obituary News :

Former YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki’s 19-year-old son, Marco Troper, was tragically found dead at the University of California, Berkeley on Tuesday. Troper’s grandmother, Esther Wojcicki, shared the heartbreaking news in a Facebook post.

Authorities responded to reports of an unresponsive student at the Clark Kerr dorms on the UC Berkeley campus, where Troper was discovered. Despite efforts by the Berkeley Fire Department to provide life-saving measures, Troper was pronounced dead.

Family Devastation

Esther Wojcicki took to Facebook to express her devastation at the loss of her beloved grandson. She described Marco as kind, loving, smart, fun, and beautiful. Marco had just begun his second semester of freshman year at UC Berkeley, majoring in math and thoroughly enjoying his studies.

“He had a strong community of friends from his dorm at Stern Hall and his fraternity Zeta Psi, and was thriving academically,” she wrote. “At home, he would tell us endless stories of his life and friends at Berkeley. Marco’s life was cut too short, and we are all devastated, thinking about all the opportunities and life experiences that he will miss and we will miss together. Marco, we all love you and miss you more than you will ever know.”

Cause of Death

According to reports, the University of California Police Department found no indications of foul play in Troper’s death, though the exact cause remains unknown. However, Esther Wojcicki has expressed her belief that her grandson passed away due to a drug overdose.

“He ingested a drug, and we don’t know what was in it. He was everything you could have wished for in a son and a grandson. He was destined to make a difference,” she shared with San Francisco outlet SFGATE. “It’s heartbreaking.”
