Accident – Death – Obituary News :

Shanda McGee, a grandmother from Cleveland, Ohio, is devastated by the tragic death of her 5-year-old grandson, Darnell Taylor. She believes that the system failed her and her family, as she had raised concerns about the boy’s legal guardians, Pammy Maye and her husband, to the caseworker at Franklin County Children’s Services.

Darnell’s body was discovered in a storm drain in Columbus, just five miles away from the home he shared with the Maye couple on Reeb Avenue. The shocking events unfolded when Pammy Maye confessed to her husband that she had killed the child, prompting a statewide Amber Alert.

After a search that spanned multiple locations, Maye was eventually apprehended in Brooklyn, Ohio, where she revealed the location of Darnell’s remains. McGee expressed her heartbreak at the manner in which her grandson was disposed of, describing it as a callous act of disregard.

The relationship between the Maye couple and Darnell’s biological grandparents had been strained, with allegations of blocked communication and denied visitation rights. A court hearing to address these issues was scheduled for March 11, but tragically, Darnell will never see justice served.

McGee believes that more could have been done by the caseworker to ensure the safety and well-being of her grandson. She calls for accountability and justice for Darnell, placing her faith in a higher power to deliver the ultimate judgement.

Pammy Maye is currently under medical care at Metro Health hospital and will face additional charges in court. The community mourns the loss of a young life and demands answers in the wake of this senseless tragedy.
