SALT LAKE CITY — Salt Lake City police have apprehended a 24-year-old man following an auto-pedestrian collision in the early hours of Saturday morning. The individual, identified as Julian Navarrete, was found to be driving under the influence at the time of the incident.

Police responded to the scene at 936 S. 300 West at 12:09 a.m. Eyewitnesses reported that Navarrete attempted to flee the area after the collision, leaving the victim pinned against a wall by the vehicle. Quick-thinking witnesses pursued and detained the suspect until law enforcement arrived.
