A heartbreaking tragedy struck the UC Berkeley community when a young student was discovered lifeless inside a dormitory on the Clark Kerr Campus. The deceased, identified as 19-year-old Marco Troper, has been confirmed as the son of former YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki.
According to a statement released by the University of California Police Department (UCPD), Troper was found at 4:23 p.m. on February 13. Despite the efforts of first responders to revive him, the student was pronounced dead at the scene.
Esther Wojcicki, the grandmother of the late Marco Troper, took to Facebook to express her profound grief over the loss of her grandson. She revealed that Troper had just begun his second semester as a freshman at UC Berkeley, where he was pursuing a degree in mathematics.
Describing Troper as a “kind, loving, smart, fun, and beautiful human being,” Esther Wojcicki’s heartfelt post painted a poignant picture of a young life cut tragically short.
