GRAND COUNTY, Utah (ABC4) — The Grand County Sheriff’s Office has identified the two pilots who tragically lost their lives in an airplane crash near the Colorado border on February 7. The deceased pilots have been named as Paul Michael Berliner and Darrin Du Ray Towe.

The ill-fated aircraft, a Hawker 900XP, was en route from Grand Junction Regional Airport in Colorado to Tacoma, Washington, when the tragic incident occurred, according to the Grand County Sheriff’s Office.

The tail number of the crashed plane was confirmed as N900VA. The Grand County Sheriff’s Office conducted an investigation at the crash site, where they were able to determine the identities of the pilot and second in command, Berliner and Towe respectively.

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has now taken over the investigation into this tragic event to determine the cause of the crash. At this time, no further information is available regarding the circumstances surrounding the incident.
