Lucknow: A 38-year-old man, identified as Pradeep Giri, has been taken into custody for the alleged murder of his wife and young son in a fit of rage at their village in Sitapur district. The tragic incident took place in Pakriya village under the jurisdiction of Imaliya Sultanpur police station in the early hours of Friday.
According to senior police officials in Lucknow, the victims were Bhura Devi, 35, and her three-year-old son Aarush. The accused, Pradeep Giri, reportedly engaged in a heated argument with his wife before the violent act unfolded.
Officer Prabhatesh Kumar from the Imaliya Sultanpur police station stated that the altercation escalated to a point where Pradeep allegedly attacked Bhura with a spade while she was holding Aarush, resulting in severe injuries to both mother and son.
Despite Pradeep’s efforts to rush the injured victims to a local hospital, young Aarush tragically succumbed to his injuries at Siddhauli CHC. Bhura Devi, on the other hand, lost her life while undergoing treatment at the King George Medical University (KGMU) trauma centre in Lucknow.
