Anand Henry : Indian-Origin Techie Suspect in US Family Murder-Suicide

New York: Anand Henry, an Indian-American former engineer at Meta, has been named as a suspect in a tragic murder-suicide case involving himself, his wife, and their four-year-old twins. The incident took place in California, United States, where Henry and his wife Alice Priyanka Benziger were found dead inside their $2.1 million Alameda de las Pulgas home on Monday. Both victims had suffered gunshot wounds, and a 9mm handgun registered to Henry was discovered on the bathroom floor where their bodies were found, according to the San Mateo Police Department.

The investigation, carried out by the San Mateo Police Department, the San Mateo County Crime Lab, and the San Mateo County Coroner’s Office, has concluded that Anand Henry is the main suspect in this tragic event. The police entered the house through an unlocked window and discovered the bodies of the couple’s two children in a bedroom, with no signs of trauma. While Alice Priyanka Benziger had multiple gunshot wounds, Anand Henry had a single gunshot wound.

The police have confirmed the identities of the deceased through fingerprints, and the next of kin have been notified. The cause of death for the children is still pending pathology, but the police have ruled out gunshots or bodily trauma as the cause. The motive behind this tragic incident is still under investigation.

Anand Henry, who had previously worked as a Software Engineering Manager at Meta and Google, founded his own artificial intelligence company called Logits after leaving Meta in June last year. Court records indicate that Henry had filed for divorce in December 2016 but did not proceed with it.

Neighbors described the couple as “friendly” and mentioned that they had been living in the house for over four years, appearing to be a happy family.
