TEWKSBURY, Mass. (WWLP) – Tewksbury Police are currently conducting a search for an individual in connection with a stabbing incident that occurred at Tewksbury State Hospital.
The incident took place on Thursday, February 15, around 7 p.m. Tewksbury Police were alerted to the assault on the hospital grounds. Upon arrival, officers discovered that an altercation had occurred between two individuals who are known to each other, resulting in one person being stabbed. The suspect fled the scene.
The victim was taken to a local hospital where they were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Authorities have identified the suspect as Brian Kobs. A description of Kobs has been provided by the police: he was last seen wearing a black and white shirt, a tan or yellow jacket, jeans, and gray shoes.
Despite an extensive search conducted by Tewksbury Police Department Drone Unit, Massachusetts State Police Air Wing, and multiple K-9 units, the whereabouts of Brian Kobs remain unknown.
Authorities do not believe that this was a random act of violence. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
