A 43-year-old woman from Bengaluru has recently approached the police with a troubling complaint. She alleges that a notorious criminal, currently incarcerated at Parappana Agrahara Central Prisons, is blackmailing her using manipulated photos and videos featuring her daughter. The victim claims that if she fails to comply with the criminal’s demands for money, he will forward the compromising material to her son-in-law and even threaten to release it online.
The distressed woman has already fallen victim to the blackmailer’s manipulation once and handed over a sum of Rs 40,000. However, the accused, known as Manu alias Manoj alias Kencha, is now compelling her to arrange an additional Rs 5 lakh. Shockingly, he allegedly made an extortionate WhatsApp call from inside the prison walls.
The Yelahanka New Town police have promptly registered a case and are currently in the process of gaining custody of the accused. The complaint has been lodged against Manu, his associate Karthik, and others involved in the criminal conspiracy. It has come to light that Manu has been terrorizing the complainant since August 2023, using the threat of exposing the incriminating materials. The woman had previously succumbed to his intimidation tactics and provided him with Rs 40,000.
On February 9, the victim received a call from Karthik, who demanded a staggering sum of Rs 5 lakh. Refusing to bow down to their coercive tactics this time, she stood her ground. However, Manu allegedly renewed his threats, instilling fear in the woman’s heart once again.
