Positive Identification of 59-Year-Old Timothy Jettie

FAIRFIELD — The Chief Medical Examiner’s Office has confirmed that the body discovered in the woods of Fairfield has been positively identified as Timothy Jettie, a 59-year-old man who had been reported missing since December 10.

The autopsy conducted to confirm the identity of the deceased has revealed that the cause and manner of Jettie’s death are still pending further testing, including toxicology results.

No Suspicion of Foul Play

While awaiting the conclusive results, authorities have already stated that there is no indication of any suspicious or criminal activity surrounding Jettie’s death.

Discovery of the Body

The Vermont State Police received a report from a member of the public on February 6 at around 2:09 p.m. regarding the discovery of what appeared to be human remains near 850 Barry Rd. in Fairfield.

The location of the body is in close proximity to Castle and Menard roads, which were areas extensively searched by police and rescue teams during the efforts to locate Jettie.

Extensive Search Operation

Since Jettie’s disappearance, an extensive search operation has been ongoing, with the most recent sighting of him recorded on October 26 at the Fairfield Market.

Despite the dedicated efforts of multiple rescue and search teams, Jettie remained missing until the recent discovery of his body.

Investigators are continuing their efforts to gather information related to Jettie’s case and are urging the public to provide any relevant details. They are specifically requesting individuals to check any game cameras or surveillance footage from the area that may help provide additional clues.
