Gray News – In a heart-wrenching turn of events, a newlywed Marine, Sgt. Alec Langen, 23, lost his life in a devastating helicopter crash during a training exercise in Southern California on February 6th. The news of his untimely demise has left his wife, Casey Langen, utterly devastated.

Casey Langen, who just tied the knot with Alec last month, expressed her profound grief in an interview with KGTV. She reminisced about their perfect wedding day, which she described as the “best day” of her life. Overwhelmed with sorrow, she fondly remembered the happiness Alec radiated on that memorable occasion.

Planning to embark on a new chapter together, the couple had dreams of moving to North Carolina to pursue their careers and start a family. Tragically, those dreams were shattered when the helicopter carrying Alec and four other Marines crashed, abruptly ending his life and leaving Casey devastated.

The helicopter crash not only claimed the life of Sgt. Alec Langen but also resulted in the tragic deaths of four other brave Marines. The fallen heroes have been identified as Capt. Jack Casey, 26; Lance Cpl. Donovan Davis, 21; Capt. Benjamin Moulton, 27; and Capt. Miguel Nava, 28. All of them were decorated servicemen, belonging to Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 361, Marine Aircraft Group 16, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, and stationed at the Marine Corps Air Station Miramar in San Diego.

In the wake of this devastating incident, The Wingman Foundation has launched a fundraiser to provide support to the bereaved families of the five fallen Marines. The foundation aims to offer financial assistance and emotional solace during this difficult time.
