An 11-year-old boy in South Carolina is facing a challenging journey to recovery after being viciously attacked by a pack of dogs. According to multiple reports, the boy was walking towards his bus stop on Wednesday morning when the horrifying incident occurred.
Local authorities in Clifton, South Carolina, stated that four dogs launched the attack on the young boy. Fortunately, a neighbor of the victim intervened and managed to scare away the aggressive canines, preventing further harm.
The severity of the attack required immediate medical attention, and the boy was airlifted to a nearby hospital. Police described his injuries as “very serious.” The victim’s mother, Amy Lowe, disclosed to WHNS that her son is currently in stable condition, but it will take a considerable amount of time for him to fully recover.
Lowe shared the distressing state her son was in after the attack, stating, “He was pretty much weak, out of it (and) clinging.” The young boy suffered approximately 60 dog bites during the harrowing incident, causing immense pain. As a result, he will require sedation for a few days and undergo multiple surgeries.
Neighbor’s Heroic Efforts
Natasha Mims, a neighbor of the victim, recounted the horrifying attack to WHNS. Mims revealed that she realized the boy desperately needed help when she saw the “four big dogs” surrounding him.
Mims described the extent of the boy’s injuries, stating, “He was laying on his stomach, and clearly the back of his leg is gone. You know, like the meat is missing, and that’s what they were eating on when I pulled up. I asked him to turn over to look at me, and he said, ‘I can’t move.'”
Lowe disclosed that she was dropping off her 6-year-old child at elementary school when the attack occurred. She received a frantic call from Mims, who pleaded for her to rush to the scene. Lowe expressed her confusion, stating, “So I didn’t know what I was pulling up to.”

Investigation and Call for Justice
According to the police, two of the dogs involved in the attack were euthanized, while the other two managed to escape. The authorities have not yet identified the owner of the dogs.
Lowe expressed her desire for the dog owners to be held accountable, stating, “I want the owners of the dogs to be held responsible. They got to be held accountable. I want justice for my son.”
A GoFundMe campaign has been launched by a family friend to assist with the boy’s recovery. The crowdfunding page highlights that Lowe has four other children and mentions the boy’s nickname, “Red.”
Currently, the GoFundMe has raised $485, but the goal is set at $10,000.
