FORT WAYNE, Ind. – A horrifying incident unfolded in Fort Wayne when a woman was found with extensive injuries to her face, neck, and ear. Blood spilled from her mouth each time she attempted to speak. Unbeknownst to her, her jaw had been broken in two places and she had sustained fractures to her nasal bone. Her eyes were swollen shut, and there were bite marks on her right breast.

According to recently released Allen Superior Court documents, the woman recounted the last thing she remembered to a Fort Wayne police detective. She recalled being choked and repeatedly struck in the face by a man. The motive behind the brutal assault? The woman had connections to individuals involved in a recent homicide investigation.

The alleged perpetrator, identified as 30-year-old Kyle Leonard Williams, now faces preliminary charges of aggravated battery and strangulation, which could result in a prison sentence ranging from 3 to 18 1/2 years.

Court documents suggest that Williams assaulted the woman when she visited his residence on a Friday. During their conversation, Williams discovered that she knew a witness involved in the criminal investigation of the murder of Diasha “Twink” Fitts. Fitts, a local barber, was tragically shot after attending a casino night at a Waynedale lodge last year.

According to the court documents, Williams revealed that one of the convicted individuals in the murder case was his “bro,” referring to the witness known to the woman as a “snitch” and a “rat.”

Another man also faces trial next month in connection with Fitts’ killing.

Subsequently, Williams allegedly strangled the woman using his hands and proceeded to repeatedly beat her face. The woman lost consciousness at some point during the assault.

Upon regaining consciousness, the woman discovered that Williams had confiscated her phone, preventing her from seeking immediate assistance. Eventually, she managed to find a way home and promptly reported the incident to the police, who promptly responded and escorted her to a local hospital.

While at the hospital, the woman received a text message from Williams containing explicit language, accusing her of lying and associating with the police. The message stated, “You telling lies & you the police you need to go back and be with that rat (expletive) (expletive) cause you the same.”

The woman provided consistent details to the police in both her initial statement and subsequent interviews, even after undergoing surgery to wire her jaw shut and address the fractures to her nasal bone.

In addition to the assault, the woman revealed that Williams had requested sexual favors before the violent attack, which she adamantly refused.

Williams was apprehended during a traffic stop at Lafayette and Main streets on Wednesday. During questioning, he claimed that he and the woman had engaged in consensual sexual activity at his residence. He also stated that he arranged transportation for her to return home. According to Williams, no one else was present during their encounter.

Following the interview, Williams was promptly arrested and taken into custody at the Allen County Jail. He is currently being held without bond.
