CYGNET, Ohio — A traffic violation led to the arrest of an Ohio man on kidnapping charges. The incident occurred in the Village of Cygnet around 12:20 p.m. on Wednesday, according to the Wood County Sheriff’s Office.

During a routine traffic stop, deputies discovered a 29-year-old woman in the backseat of a vehicle driven by 27-year-old Langston Campbell from Cincinnati. The Wood County Sheriff’s Office separated Campbell and the woman, revealing that the female had been reported missing on January 10th by her mother from San Bernardino, California, as reported by WXIX.

Further investigation conducted by the deputies revealed that the woman and her two-year-old son had allegedly been kidnapped and held against their will in Detroit, as well as in Port Huron, Michigan. The details surrounding the kidnapping incidents have not been disclosed at this time.

Langston Campbell was subsequently arrested and booked into the Wood County Jail on two counts of kidnapping, according to WTOL.

Fortunately, the mother and her child were successfully reunited following the arrest.
