Accident – Death – Obituary News : Alden, MN (KROC-AM News)- A lorry driver from the Twin Cities was injured after the articulated lorry he was driving overturned on a southern Minnesota interstate.
The incident occurred shortly after 2:00 am on Thursday morning. According to the State Patrol, the road was wet at the time of the rollover.
First responders were dispatched to the crash site along I-90 in Alden Township, which is approximately 12 miles west of Albert Lea. The state crash report indicates that the articulated lorry was traveling east when the driver lost control, causing the vehicle to roll onto its side.
The driver, identified as 37-year-old Abdi Mohamed Dagane from Shakopee, was taken from the scene to Albert Lea Hospital. Fortunately, he sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
Dagane was wearing a seatbelt, and alcohol was not a factor in the crash, according to the report.
The Albert Lea Fire Department and Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office also responded to the accident.
