ROSS COUNTY, Ohio — Recent revelations have brought to light crucial information regarding the tragic pedestrian accident that occurred on Route 23 near Maple Lane last Monday.

The victim, previously identified as Timothy Oyer, aged 53, sadly succumbed to his injuries at the scene, as confirmed by the prompt response of Scioto Township EMS. According to deputies, his injuries resulting from the collision with a southbound Pontiac Torrent, driven by Melissa Irvin, aged 53, were severe.

An official report from the sheriff’s office meticulously outlines the presence of skid marks originating from the center of Maple Lane, indicating the likely point of entry onto the roadway for Mr. Oyer. These skid marks lead all the way to his final resting place in the south ditch. Additionally, investigators discovered several pieces of debris at the scene, including a green toboggan and a bottle of Pepsi.

A diligent motorist who was trailing Ms. Irvin testified that she was maintaining her lane at the time of the accident and had a direct view of the horrifying incident.

Fortunately, Ms. Irvin suffered only minor injuries and was promptly transported to Adena Regional Medical Center for medical attention.
