The elderly pedestrian, identified as Party #1, was walking eastbound on SR-29, attempting to cross from the northbound #1 lane to the northbound #2 lane. Pedestrians should always use designated crosswalks and wait for a safe opportunity to cross the road. It is essential to remain vigilant and aware of oncoming traffic, especially when attempting to traverse multiple lanes.

Drivers, on the other hand, must remain attentive at all times and adhere to posted speed limits. It is their responsibility to be on the lookout for pedestrians and yield the right of way when necessary.

By prioritizing pedestrian safety and fostering a culture of mutual respect on the roads, we can work towards preventing tragic accidents like this from occurring in the future.
