GAINESVILLE, Ga. — A 39-year-old man was apprehended by the Gainesville police after he allegedly rammed patrol cars in Hall County. The incident occurred on Monday around 9 p.m. at the intersection of Browns Bridge Road and Pearl Nix Parkway.

Concerned citizens had contacted 911, reporting that a white Dodge Charger was obstructing traffic and expressing worries about the driver’s well-being.

TROUBLE UNFOLDS:

Upon arriving at the scene, officers made contact with the driver, identified as 39-year-old James Edward Harrison from Jefferson. According to the police, Harrison immediately became uncooperative.

Despite the officers’ attempts to assist him, Harrison refused to comply with any commands given. The situation quickly escalated when Harrison unexpectedly shifted his car into gear and forcefully collided with two patrol cars.

APPREHENSION OF THE SUSPECT:

In response to Harrison’s dangerous actions, the Gainesville officials deployed a Taser to subdue him. After removing him from the vehicle, the police arrested Harrison.

The authorities have charged Harrison with four counts of aggravated assault on a police officer, possession of methamphetamine, and three counts of obstruction of an officer. Following a brief stop at a hospital, Harrison was booked into the Hall County Jail.
