A pedestrian was seriously injured in a felony hit-and-run collision in San Diego’s Oak Park neighborhood on Sunday night, according to the San Diego Police Department (SDPD). The incident occurred in the 3000 block of 54th Street at approximately 6 p.m. The victim, a 40-year-old woman, was standing in the No. 1 southbound lane when an unidentified vehicle struck her and fled the scene.

The SDPD reported that the victim suffered a fractured left tibia and fibula and was immediately transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Fortunately, her injuries are not considered life-threatening at this time.

Investigation Underway

An ongoing investigation is being conducted to determine the circumstances surrounding the collision. Currently, there are no known witnesses to the incident, and fault has yet to be determined. The driver of the vehicle involved in the hit-and-run has also not been identified.
